I am Chinese

Born and raised in China for over 20 years

Lived in the US for thirteen years

Chinese-American, would be my identity, I guess

 

I learn ancient Chinese calligraphy with an unstoppable desire rooted in my bones

I do this calligraphy art for my blood

It’s not traditional Chinese calligraphy—they’ve done the best already

It’s contemporary, something new and never seen

 

I don’t know what it will become

I will know when I finish

I’ve done two for the zodiac

One by one, year by year

Will be 12, in total—
